Federal Firearms License (FFL) Transfers
We provide full FFL transfer services. Even if you don’t buy a firearm from us we will ensure your transfer is completed professionally and within the required laws. We provide outbound transfers if you are moving or traveling and need your firearms sent to a different location. We also handle inbound transfers for purchases made out of the local area, at a gun show or even online. We handle all transfers professionally and promptly just as if it were our own firearms being transferred.
For your convenience we have answered some common questions related to FFL transfers. If you have any other questions please stop by or call us for more details.
Q) How much do you charge for an FFL transfer?
A) We charge $30 for each gun transferred. We feel our price is fare and insures our costs are covered without creating a large financial expense for our customers.
Q) I purchased a gun online, what do I need to do now?
A) Please send us an email with the following information:
1. Make & Model of the gun purchased.
2. Email address or fax number of the shipper.
3. Your name and phone number.
Q) I want to ship a gun, what do I need to do?
A) Please do the following:
1. Contact us to let us know what your needs are.
2. Contact the receiving FFL and have them email us a copy of their FFL.
3. Bring the firearm being shipped to us. (Do not seal in package)
4. We will seal the package after visually inspecting the contents.
5. We can package the gun for you if you prefer.
(Handguns are $10, Long guns are an addition $15 packaging fee.)
6. You are responsible for shipping carrier fees as well as the transfer fee.
Q) What shipping carrier do you use?
A) We prefer to use the USPS, as it is usually much more reasonably priced. Other carriers such as UPS & FedEx insist that firearms be shipped overnight and charge a great deal for that service.
Q) Will you accept transfers from a private party?
A) Yes, if the owner of the gun provides a copy of their current state issued firearms license and drivers license and signs the paper copy in blue ink. Driver’s license must contain the firearm owner’s physical address. PO boxes are not acceptable. Shipping company must be informed that the package contains a firearm and requires an adult signature for receipt.
Q) Can you ship a gun directly to my home or place of employment?
A) Firearm sales are regulated by the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (commonly called the ATF). According to federal law, firearms cannot be shipped directly to a home or workplace. A firearm may only be shipped to and from a Federally Licensed Firearms dealer (FFL). For additional information please visit the ATF’s website at www.atf.gov.
Q) How long does the process take?
A) As for the time a transfer takes, that varies depending on many factors. Typically a transfer takes anywhere from 3 days or more up to 3 or more weeks. It mostly depends on how quickly each dealer receives the required paperwork and the shipping process takes.
